Anthene lycaenina villosina
Lycaenidae; Lycaeninae; Anthene lycaenina villosina Fruhstorfer, 1923. A member of the tribe Polyommatini, known as "Blues". The dorsal surface of the wings is mostly powder blue, but the ventral view (as with most Lycaenidae) is immensely detailed. So perhaps I can be excused for saying that the pictures show it all. My main identification points are the orange and black eyespot in the sub-marginal area near the tails and the fact that each hind wing appears to have two short white tails.
Spotted on roadside foliage near a small stream in a sparsely populated area.
