small white

Pieris rapae

Description:

A small white butterfly not very active, it was the only specimen of this species I saw in the park and the only butterfly. It flew from flower to flower keeping itself close to the path and far from the wilder forests, maybe because it prefered the open human-made spaces.

Habitat:

plants on the river bank, mediterranean climate
