Catocala nymphagoga
The wingspan is 35 - 43 mm. Adults are on wing from June to August depending on the location. The larvae feed on Quercus species.
It is found in Southern Europe, from Bulgaria up to the Iberian Peninsula and sometimes further north as a migrant. It is also found in North Africa and Asia Minor
mine to, that's why I still put it here ;) so yes, couldn't care less whether the picture is nice or not as long as I can see who's on the picture ;D
Haha :D Not too nice of it - but since my main goal is to find nice species and just secondly to take beautiful photos of 'em I could live with such a behaviour :-p
to console you, they are super not-willing to collaborate to make some nice photos :D this one was about 5 m away from me...omg
I have found some pictures with darker individuals too ;) ha ha ha, are you gonna jump out from this bushes too? :D crazy bayucca, now I'm really concerned :P
Please, verify! Yours appears to be a very dark individual. Maybe from the oaks bayucca was talking about?? ;-)
