Blue fronted amazon parrot

Amazona aestiva

Description:

a medium sized parrot approximately 12-15 inches in height. Green overall plumage with yellow eye areas extending up the head with an "cap" of blue plumage. Some reddish orange feathers under the flights.

Habitat:

Found in a tree in the botanical garden near a pond. Two individuals were unmoving in the tree. Weather was becoming bad with a storm impending which may account for the immobile birds.
