Red Admiral

Description:

At work I'm known as the resident animal expert, so when we were working outside and several animals made themselves known to us (mostly spiders haha), I was quickly called over to indenitfy this red admiral. A beautiful female, I like red admirals not just because males are so diligent about thier territory (they'll circle it 7 to 30 times an hour), but also their comfort around humans, often perching on us. Red admirals also feature in the work of Vladimir Nabokov, a writer I admire.
