American Black Bear scat

Ursus americanus scat

Description:

Fresh bear scat found on the nature trail on our property. Consisting mainly of salmon berries, cherry pits and grass-like vegetation.

Habitat:

Bush at Albion Under the Trees, Temperate Rainforest.

Notes:

The bears generally come out of the bush at night and eat the berries, cherries, blueberries in our fields. This is the worst time of the year for getting scared while you are gardening in the evenings!
