A simple vista puede confundirse con una Vanessa carye, pero las alas anteriores de la vestina son menos angulares y las marcas oscuras son más lineales.

Habitat:

Esta especie es común la parte superior del bosque nublado, zona de transición de la puna de los Andes orientales (2400-3000m) Se produce sólo en el sur de Perú y Bolivia.

Wonderful spotting! Close to Vanessa sp., but it is actually an Andean Buckeye, Junonia vestina.
