Robber Fly

Description:

Medium to small sized Robber Fly. Mostly gray body with darker dorsal thorax and some dark areas on the abdomen. Black and yellow on legs, white face with a little white beard. This Genus has distinct feathered antennae. This species is the only known member of this genus found in NY.

Habitat:

Suburban yard.

Notes:

I can't get enough of these guys. They are very prevalent in the yard.
