Yellow-legged Gull; Gaviota Patiamarilla

Larus michahellis

Description:

This ones legs are not the usual bright yellow, more like pink still. It seems that Iberian Yellow-leggeds take longer than other birds to become yellow, sometimes not until they reach full adult status, and perhaps 5-10% may remain pink throughout their life. This is from my "Birds of Iberia" book.

Habitat:

Coastal marshes
