Mew Gull

Description:

Mew Gull looking for a rodent meal. Taken in Denali Park. The thin and solid yellow, their unmarked bills distinguish Mew Gulls from all other Alaskan gulls

Habitat:

Found near the bank of a glacier fed river. The river is chocked with glacial, flour sized sediments and thus cannot support much life. To protects itself from most predators, it nests on small sand and gravel bars within the river. For food, it hunts for the small rodents that populate the river banks.

Assigned to Mission Wild because it is in a national park. The Alaskan wildlife service is my favorite reference.
