Description:

A pan tropical aquatic plant that resembles but is not related to water lilies. It is invasive in the US and some other areas.

Habitat:

Observed in a shallow bird-bath shaped vessel on the Pura Batuan temple grounds, Gianyar, Bali.

Thanks Mark. I read there are 20 species of the "marshwort" genus in Australia. The recorded species indica distribution in Australia is mapped here http://bie.ala.org.au/species/Nymphoides... Get ye to the east coast ;-)
