Cinnabar moth

Description:

Bluey-grey grey wings with bright fushia pink markings. Out in the daytime in full sun, clearly moonlighting as a butterfly. Or would 'sunlighting' be more appropriate? Anyway, it was a large moth, about the size of a 50p piece, and very active, I had to chase it around the garden for ages to get this picture, which is why there is only one.

Habitat:

Suburban garden
