Bauera rubioides
A shrub about 1 m high with wiry hairy branches. Small stalkless leaves with slightly serrated margins and sparse hairs were arranged in whorls around the stem. Flowers were a pinkish white on delicate long pink stems. They hung face down mostly. Stamens were arranged much like that on a dog rose.
Spotted growing in dappled shade on moist ground in a tall eucalyptus forest. This species is endemic to Australia
Family: Cunoniaceae Also known as Wiry Bauera http://www.yarraranges.vic.gov.au/Reside...
