Dipodium roseum
Pale pink flowers on an erect waxy maroon stem, about 1/2 meter tall. The pink petals had dark spots with the labellum with dark striations. There were no leaves on the stems.
Spotted in a nature reserve amongst eucalyptus trees.
These orchids are said to be saprophytic, deriving nutrients from decaying plant material. The dark stems could easily be mistaken for dried plants. They flower between December and April and attract native bees. Family: Orchidaceae

They are, aren't they, Leanne. Thank you. I always wanted to see a wild orchid- this is my second one. Unfortunately, I did not get good shots of the first orchid which was so delicate and beautiful and I don't think we'll be returning to that place for a while.
So pretty Leuba.
