Canada Lily

Lilium canadense

Description:

A solitary lily growing along a trail in Cumberland Gap NHP. The Canada Lily is infrequent in the state. Native Americans used the flower buds and roots as a food. It can be identified by its nodding flowers and the perianth segments flare gracefully, being re-curved near the tip.
