Amenia chrysame
This was a sturdy fly with a metallic green thorax and abdomen. The frons was a deep orange and the face yellow. Post orbital stripes were a pale yellow.
The thorax had four longitudinal white stripes and two white spots. Abdominal segments had white spots.
Spotted feeding on a Kunzea plant in a reserve.
An attractive fly from the Calliphoridae family.
Larvae are born well developed and are said to parasitise land snails.
