Coot; Focha Común

Fulica atra

Description:

Adult with young. Many people here tell me these are Crested Coots because the show the red when they are young, but all Coots do that. In my experience the red knobs of the adults are easy to see on a photograph but not with the naked eye sometimes. Definitely no red knobs on this one.

Habitat:

Coastal marshes.
