Soldier Pansy

Junonia terea

The Soldier Pansy or Soldier Commodore (Junonia terea)[2] is a butterfly of the Nymphalidae family. The wingspan is 50–55 mm in males and 52–60 mm in females.

It is found in the Afrotropic ecozone.

Reclusive but territorial butterfly. When it's not capering about in the garden, it's hanging in a cool corner disguised as a leaf as seen in the last two photos. Fascinating nymphlid!
