Carduelis spinus
The Eurasian Siskin (Carduelis spinus) is a small passerine bird in the finch family Fringillidae. The upper parts are greyish green and the under parts grey-streaked white. Its wings are black with a conspicuous yellow wing bar, and the tail is black with yellow sides. The male has a mainly yellow face and breast, with a neat black cap. Female and young birds have a greyish green head and no cap.
In the Osprey Center in Loch Garten, Abernethy. They have placed many feeders around the place that atract the nearby woodland birds.

I learned a lot from your nice description. young birds are like female.. I looked for blue bird last winter, usually found female. (female isn't blue) and I learned young male is like female. I didn't know siskin is same like it. :))
Hi Harum! thanks for your comment. I was actually making a wild guess about the sexes..haha :-D..I am probably wrong so I will fix the comment :-)

I love how you can tell how small these Siskins are by the side of the Chaffinch in your first photo Marta, they really are little cuties :-)
Hi beaker98! It was in the woods in Scotland. But in my home we have a feeder and we don´t see many birds coming often although they are close by. It may be because is not a garden but a terrace and it spooks them (?).
What a beautiful bird! I wish I could get something that colorful to my feeder We feed quite a few sparrows:) Nice shots.
