Description:

There is one generation of Gatekeepers a year, emerging in July and peaking in early august, relatively small, around 3.5-4.5cm wingspan. These are everywhere at the minute in the meadows. This one is the male as it has the dark brown bar across its upperwings.

Habitat:

seen at Otwell meadows, cherwell in Oxford.
