Family: Libellulidae (Skimmer dragonflies) Female. Length: 50 mm. Wingspan: 101.6 mm (4 inches) Each of the 4 wings have 3 black/brown spots adding up to 12. Powerful mouthparts as seen in the first photo biting my finger Body color: brown. Thorax has yellow stripes. Abdomen is lined with yellow. Food: insects

Habitat:

Meadow, fields, ponds (near water)

Notes:

Shamrock Orb Weaver Spider that tried to have a big dragonfly for lunch.
