Description:

Showy perennial pollinated by large butterflies, especially Swallowtails.

Habitat:

This plant is considered threatened in many states. We do have a nice population of at least 50 plants growing on a road cut that leads to my cabin. Temperate rain forest 3000'

Notes:

Roots were used as snakebite remedy by the Cherokee & Seminole tribes.
