Description:

Family: Pieradae. Subfamily: Coliadinae (yellows and sulphurs) Common. Also known as Alfalfa Butterfly. Male as shown is bright yellow with orange overlay, yellow veins, pink spots and white and pink border. One large white spot with black and pink border. Feeds on various plants of the pea family. Wingspan: 35-70 mm.

Habitat:

Meadow with abundant flowers and weeds and plants.

Notes:

Range if throughout the United States except central and southeastern USA.
