Description:

Coachwhips are long, slender snakes that are highly variable in color. Color varies by range, and around here we have mostly tan ones, but also the occasional red one. This guy was tan and lightly banded.

Habitat:

Found in a snake trap used for graduate research. Sand sage habitat.
