Seen on a flowering bush at the edge of a river going through primary rainforest, in Costa Rica.
Thanks bayucca. As you can see, this particular bush was a haven for butterflies, particularly metalmarks, it seems. I spent 2 or 3 hours there, standing on the bridge, watching, every day! It was growing right beside a bridge over the Sarapiqui river, at the edge of primary rainforest, in Selva Verde, so was at a great height for photos.
