I think I have this ID correct, but let me know if I've gone wrong. There are faint red spots on the tops of the wings, as seen from above. Second photo shows side view of butterfly. Happened to see it on a picnic table as I walked by ... maybe we find what we seek, yes?

You have the ID correct, but when the butterfly looks like this, it is usually referred to as Red-spotted Purple or Red-spotted Admiral. The White Admiral generally refers to the subspecies with the white band on the wing. But either way, you are technically correct :) And a beautiful butterfly it is!
