Project Noah Nature School
Tiny & shiny red bug about 3 mm..
In my garden, near Ipomoea plant..
Family Chrysomelidae
That's impressive, Jason... we could call it the treacle beetle
Nice spotting Jason!Looks like it reflects light ! So sharp :)
Thanks for the info :) But it also said that the adult is 1.2 cm and all species feed on Acacia..
Larvae can be larger than adults.
Fabulous looking beetle.
I don't think so, Wilson.. Coz it said that the larva is 1 cm, whereas this beetle is about 3 mm.. It also said that that bugs all are endemic to Australia..
Leaf beetles - Genus Dicranosternahttp://www.brisbaneinsects.com/brisbane_...
Thanks..
What an amazing beetle! Very nice close up shot!
