Violet-crowned Woodnymph

Thalurania colombica colombica

Description:

The violet-crowned woodnymph (Thalurania colombica colombica), also known as the purple-crowned woodnymph, is a medium-sized hummingbird. It has a violet crown, upper back, shoulders and belly, a shiny green throat and breast, green lower back, and a deeply forked blue-black tail.

Habitat:

Rancho Naturalista Primary pre-montane Caribbean slope rainforest at 2970ft (900m) Wet lowlands and foothills to 2500 m.

Notes:

I think this might be a different hummingbird than I have already posted. if it isn't, I'll delete it as the quality is so poor.
