Ornamental Tree Trunk Spider

Description:

Came across this pair of Ornamental Tree Trunk Spiders - Herennia multipuncta, male is much more smaller than the female, plain brown/red in colour whereas the female is much bigger in size and also more colourful with interesting markings and patterns. Initially, the male was just sitting on top of the female when I found them and while taking pictures of them, the male started to move around and to the side of the female, checking or courting her, not sure if he successfully mated with her. In Pic #1, the eyes arrangement of the male looks like it has a smiley face :D
