Tiger Longwing Butterfly laying eggs

Heliconius hecale zuleika.

Description:

Now I know why the Tiger Longwing Butterflies, keep coming to my garden they like to lay their eggs at the end of the tendrils of the Passion flower, after that the tendrils curl and completely hide the eggs, the problem is... a large preying Mantis lives there and... sorry but I have been helping the butterflies so they do not get caught by it...I am learning so much about Butterflies in my garden!!

Thank you so much, RiekoS.
I am hoping I can keep track of the eggs to record the process to the point of witnessing a butterfly come out.

Very nice series.

Thank you, LaurenZarate, all this is new to me also, I have been observing and recording...learning a lot!! : )

Thank you, Jemma. I did not... ever since I place the Passion Vine the praying Mantis has been there and I did not have the heart to move it some place else, I just help the butterflies when they come. : )

Very neat! I wouldn't have thought a butterfly would lay eggs like that!
