Three-toed sloth

Bradypus variegatus

Description:

While getting dinner at a restaurant with marvelous views to the forest we were as lucky as to see a three-toed sloth going about its business in a nearby tree. In the video attached you can see it grooming and scratching its head. These sloths are frequently referred to as three-toed sloths, but all sloths have three toes; the difference is found in the number of fingers, meaning they are now more appropriately referred to as three-fingered sloths.

Habitat:

Forest near Manuel Antonio.
