Pseudoxya diminuta
Acrididae; Oxyinae; Oxyini; Pseudoxya diminuta Walker, 1871. This is definitely an Acridid late instar nymph (it does not yet have fully developed wings, just little stubs which can barely be seen). I am not sure of my ground when it comes to grasshoppers, but I am slightly familiar with the early stages of nymphs of P. diminuta and I think that the grasshopper shown here is just a later stage nymph which I do not know very well. I mention this so as not to mislead anyone. I am still trying to find exactly matching pictures for the nymph shown here and if my current identification proves to be wrong, I will fix it immediately.
Spotted in our backyard on a Painted nettle (Coleus scutellarioides) in the Philippines it is called Mayana. Plant identification - http://www.stuartxchange.org/Badiara.htm...
