Simosyrphus grandicornis

Description:

Hoverflies (or flowerflies) are often bee mimics and hover around flowers or other plant structures. somewhat distracted by mating gave me the chance for a close up. Of course real bees are not observed mating like this.

Martin, I believe this is what you have got here -Simosyrphus grandicornis. There is a single pale lateral stripe on thorax which is not seen in the other genus.
