Description:

some kind of puffball, about an inch or so across

Habitat:

on a living deciduous tree in riparian woods at Kyker Bottoms Wildlife Refuge

Notes:

There were three other kinds of mushrooms growing on the same tree.

Thanks for ID help chesterbperry and Parker V.
Too large to be Lycogala epidendrum. Lycoperdon pyriforme looks like a match but the species has been moved to the genus Morganella.
