Lichnoptera decora
Polilla de la familia Noctuidae.
Bosque mesófilo de montaña (perturbado).

Noctuidae, Pantheinae, Lichnoptera sp., closer I think is not possible. Either Lichnoptera decora or Lichnoptera cavillator. Personally I would go with Lichnoptera sp..
Mexico is sometimes tricky for location determination: Is it south of US of north of Central America?? I would tend to Lichnoptera decora (only US species) or Lichnoptera cavillator, reported from Costa Rica. There were reports about caterpillars of decora in Mexico as well. I think with Lichnoptera sp. you are at the safe side. I must admit that it is similar to a Tiger Moth (which were actually Noctuidae/Arctiinae as well, after a relegation of Arctiidae in Arctiinae of Noctuidae). However, the legs and markings are looking different.

Not Biston sp., looks different:

and is not found in Mexico.
