Meadow Spittlebug

Philaenus spumarius

Description:

One of many in the garden. I tried to get pictures of all of the different color variations I could find. The dark winged one has continued to elude me. Nymphs of this species live in "spittle" nests in the grass or other vegetation.

Habitat:

Suburban garden.
