White-tailed Deer Fawn

Odocoileus virginianus

Description:

Just a few days old, this little cutie is brown and covered in white spots.

Habitat:

Walking out of the forest near the road in sandhills habitat. We stopped the car and went over to it, when it then laid down in the grass. After a few seconds of me sitting next to it, it finally got up and ran back into the woods and calling for mom. Glad I was able to get it away from the road, but hopefully mom came back to him!
