Zebra swallowtail

Eurytides marcellus

Description:

Zebra swallowtail has long triangular wings with swordlike tail. The above is chalk-white to hint of blue-green with black stripes and bands. Hind Wing above has 2 deep blue spots at base and bright scarlet spot closer to body. The zebra is the most abundant regular North American representative of the kite swallowtails.

Habitat:

Was only able to get one quick shot of the zebra swallowtail because it was constantly moving in the woods at a state park in Baltimore, Maryland.
