Orange-spotted Flower Moth/Red-waisted Florella Moth.

Syngamia florella

Description:

I am not getting many Moth spottings but I am getting lots of the same type every night!? This one is small and very active, the one in the second picture is no longer alive but it shows the wings when closed.

That was nice to know, I went back to the second picture on my spotting also and I can see the blue lines when I close-up, I also notice in some pictures the wings look iridescent. Thanks, Machi

Maybe the coloration is different in different places, but when I see them up close, the bands on their bodies are actually blue.

I guess they live in all sort of places, Florida, Costa Rica and...?!
They are very small and my MACRO is being replace so I could not use it....I did not see any blue bands!?

I see these constantly around my yard too. I love their beautiful colors, especially the blue bands on their bodies.

Thank you so much for the ID, Machi
