Description:

Mostly yellow caterpillar with an orange head (later instars have red heads). Broad dark stripe down the middle of the back. Four light colored tufts, two red warts. Long dark lashes on either side of the head and one of the rump. Fairly long pale hairs on most of the body with interspersed single darker hairs. Contact with the hair from these caterpillars can cause allergic reaction in some people.

Habitat:

Temperate forest.
