Unmarked Pink Forester ?

Euphaedra cf. diffusa

Description:

This butterfly flew past me deep in the forest. It's upper wings were the most vibrant purple. I followed it for a while, and it stopped briefly to allow me to take a photo before flying off into the forest. Unfortunately it didn't oblige by opening it's wings.

Habitat:

pre-montane tropical forest

Notes:

Kibale National Park (pronounced Chibale) is a national park in South Uganda protecting moist evergreen rain forest. It is 766 km² in size and is located between 1,100–1,600 meters in elevation. The northern part of the park has the highest elevation. Kibale is one of the last remaining expanses to contain both lowland and montane forests. In East Africa, it sustains the last significant expanse of pre-montane forest.
