By the way those seeds are quite toxic if ingested...

If you want to germinate them you will need to cut the seed coat with a file or sandpaper until you see white

Yes those are the seeds. but could be either species still...

Both species are very thickety...herbacea has very small downward curving thorns and no true wood...crista-galli forms wood but often dies down completely outside of the tropics and so can look much like herbacea in the US...If you have any pics from further back that might help.

These seeds were in the thicket under the flowers. Are they related?

They were in such a thicket I couldn't determine which leaves belonged to what.

Definitely Erythrina need to see the leaves to be sure but I guess an escaped crista-galli rather than the native herbaceae
