Pachypasa otus
Pachypasa otus is a moth of the family Lasiocampidae. It is found in southern Europe (including Italy and Greece), Balkans, Asia Minor, Armenia, Iraq and Iran.Recorded food plants include Cupressus, Juniperus, Thuja occidentalis and Quercus pubescens. It was the probable source for Roman coa vestis, wild silk textiles from the isle of Kos, and it's common name derives from that. The pictured male moth, was spotted in Rhodes island, Greece.
