Spiny Stick Insect, Phasmid - Female

Aretaon sp

Description:

This Adult Female is from the family of Heteropterygidae where all the genuses have spines. She was found on a trunk of a tree (Pic #4) among some mosses, probably the reason of her greenish coloration for good camouflage. Quite big in size, around 7 cm. Not certain if this could be Aretaon asperimus

Habitat:

Tropical rain forest
