Tiger Bee Fly

Description:

Large bee fly, wingspan of approximately 1 inch, distinctive delta wing shape when resting, black and grey mottled colours. I believe it is a tiger bee fly as I have seen other pictures of similar online.

Habitat:

Flying around perennial flower borders, in 4 acre organic suburban garden. Resting frequently on leaves, did not appear to be hunting other insects.
