ooops, I mean not native to the area, not to the ear!
I don't think its native to the ear. probably a leftover from the French.
Thanks to both of you I could locate the ID! It was in Bokor Hill, where the former french casino is located. I wonder whether is from the area or actually remnants of gardens from the french era, when this hotel was inhabited..
We call it Amaryllis in the States.
