I agree that it is not a Cecropia. I have been googling, including instars in my search. No luck yet in finding an image or a resource that I can use to narrow a search. I did find a similar one that had a mid-body horizontal stripe. Was there a stripe on yours or is that a shadow?
It's not a Cecropia moth Ashish but yes gator, I think you're right. It does look like it belongs to Limacodidae. I googled some images but didn't see any matches yet.
Reminds me of Limacodidae, cup, nettle or slug moths. The larvae are typically very flattened, and instead of prolegs they have suckers. Many Limacodidae larvae are green and fairly smooth, but can have tubercles with urticating hairs and may have bright warning colours.

That's so cool, he almost looks like a cactus! I've never seen a caterpillar like this, I wonder what it grows up into. Nice picture :)
