Tiny Skeletonizers

Description:

Tiny Leaf Beetle of only 3 mm, which in spite of the tough hairy leaves, was able to cause significant leaf damage (see last picture). The elytra are semi transparent so the underwings are somewhat visible. An overall bronze coloration. Family Chrysomelidae.

Habitat:

Woody plant with hairy leaves, Rancho Nuevo Park, San Cristobal de Las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico, 2,200 meters.
