Jewel Bug

Chrysocoris stolli

Description:

Also known as Shield-backed Bugs due to the presence of a continuous shield over the abdomen and wings, these insects feed on plant juices from a variety of different species. They're closely related to stink bugs and they may produce an offensive odour when disturbed. From the looks of it, they're often misidentified as Beetles than Bugs.

Habitat:

Vegetation near a forest stream bed.
