If I can add some insight, I believe that Project Noah utilizes algorithms in the background that can group and sort and tally species according to commonality in the scientific names. But that functionality will not work if the scientific name includes extraneous data. Therefore everyone must standardize thier data entry for the greater good.
Why do you think you have to leave Project Noah when your spottings are appreciated so much? All you have to do put the entire thing (name + author+ year) in Remarks box. So the whole thing is there in the spotting. Any one who wants to know the name of the taxonomist and the year when the species was described and details can have access.
The two terms that make up the scientific name can go in the box on top. Simple. That box is for just the name.
I am NOT Admin for Project Noah...I am just trying to explain a small fact... if you INSIST on putting all information in the box meant for the name...well, I won't spend any more time explaining.
SukanyaDatta, I,m sorry. If that's advice as a friend, let me say thank you. If you are on the board of <Project Noah.org>, two things can happen, I have to remove the author's name after the scientific name, or... I have to leave Project Noah.

SukanyaDatta,
Thank you very much for the explanation... but I think I was bothered while I didn't break any project rules.

SukanyaDatta,
Is that what you mean or is it a Project Noah.org policy?
If it's Project Noah.org's policy, I have to follow it.
Please remove (L.) Raeusch from scientific name. You may keep it in Remarks, if you insist...we discussed this...remember!!!
